Refund Policy
Last updated: 13 September 2026
We would rather you test MomentCut before paying. Here, in plain terms, is what is refundable and how to ask. The French version prevails in case of discrepancy.
1. Try for free first
The Free plan requires no card: 15 minutes of source video and 3 exports (with watermark) let you check that transcription, moment selection and rendering suit you before subscribing.
2. Refund after the first payment
If you have just subscribed to Starter or Creator and the service is not right for you, you can request a full refund within 14 days of the first payment, provided you have not used the service substantially during that period (as a guide: less than 20% of the plan’s minutes analyzed and fewer than 5 watermark-free exports). Beyond that usage, we review the request case by case and may offer a partial refund.
This period covers the 14-day withdrawal right under the French Consumer Code; as the service is delivered immediately, substantial usage during that period may be deducted.
3. Renewals
Monthly renewals are not refunded, nor prorated for the remaining period: cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. Cancellation is done online, from “Manage subscription” in your account, which opens Paddle’s customer portal; the renewal date is shown in the confirmation e-mail sent by Paddle. The subscription stays active until the end of the paid period. As an exception, a renewal charged within 7 days of a cancellation request sent by e-mail that we failed to process is refunded.
Deleting your account is not the same as cancelling: the subscription is handled by Paddle and must be cancelled first. That is why the client area refuses to delete an account while a subscription is running.
3a. Minute packs
A minute pack is a one-time purchase, with no subscription. As long as no minute of the pack has been used, we refund it in full on request within 14 days of purchase. Once part of the minutes has been used, the pack is no longer refundable: the digital content has been supplied and consumed, and you expressly requested that immediate supply at the time of payment (article L221-28 13° of the French Consumer Code).
Purchased minutes do not expire, but they are neither transferable nor convertible into money. Cancelling your subscription does not refund them; deleting your account loses them permanently, with no refund.
4. Technical problems
If a prolonged outage on our side prevented you from using the service for a significant part of a billing period, write to us: we extend the subscription or refund the affected period.
5. How to request a refund
E-mail contact@momentcut.co from your account address, stating the payment date and, if possible, the order number shown on the Paddle receipt. We reply within 3 business days. Refunds are processed by Paddle.com, our reseller (“Merchant of Record”), to the original payment method; the time to receive it depends on your bank (usually 5 to 10 business days). You can also contact Paddle support directly from your receipt.
6. Exclusions
No refund is due when the account is suspended for breach of the Terms of Service (unlawful content, abusive use), nor for minutes or exports you consumed and then deleted.
